About

We are in the business of connecting.

What we understood at the port of Busan in 2010 is where this company started. Twenty years on, the work is the same: joining two sides that could not reach each other.

KMS Co., Ltd. Since 2005

Why we exist

Duty-free goods are the means. People are the point.

The KMS 'why' was found at the port of Busan in 2010. For seafarers working in conditions few people ever see, duty-free goods are what makes life aboard bearable, and provisions are what makes it possible at all. We were not simply selling goods; we were delivering something essential to someone's life.

That realization led to a first resolution: to change how ship supply is seen within the duty-free industry. It was never a story about money. It was a story about pride and dignity in our work.

Looking back over twenty years, the place we grew was the empty space between two markets — global brands that could not reach, and customers who could not easily source. Joining the two is what distribution is really for, and it has become the reason we exist.

Message from the CEO

Nothing in the past was perfect. So today, we still look for the 1%.

Thank you for visiting KMS. We began in 2005 with ship supply and bonded distribution. Today, from our Busan headquarters and Pyeongtaek branch, we supply duty-free liquor, tobacco and food to vessels at ports across Korea, to cruise ships and ferries, to embassies and to duty-free shops.

What we do is join two sides that could not reach each other: global brands that cannot stretch this far, and people in specialized markets waiting for what those brands make. I believe the answer to every problem lies with the customer and the market. In the narrow sense, our customers are the partners we trade with; in the broad sense, they are the seafarers and travelers out at sea.

Twenty years have taught me that the answer is found only when we look from their point of view. Nothing in the past was perfect. Only by finding the hidden 1% does the future become perfect.

So we treat numbers as our second language and confirm on time, in full, without incident — on record, not just in words. That is also why we have kept changing the way we work — from RPA to ERP to AI — since the days when we were a team of six.

Every one of us at KMS is on the front line, facing the customer. Believing that being specific is being kind, we will remain a company that creates the value of connection. Thank you.

Lloyd Lim, CEO, KMS Co., Ltd.

Mission · Promises

Three things we hold to

  1. 01

    We keep the rules

We follow customs regulations and brand policy. A transaction that is not in the ERP does not happen, and nothing is agreed verbally without a record.

  2. 02

    We deliver in full

We count the stock in our own bonded warehouse every day so that customs records and physical inventory match, and we deliver on time, in full and without incident — without skipping a single step from order to delivery at the pier.

  3. 03

    We keep the promise

The promises that ship chandlers, duty-free operators and brand owners make to their customers at sea become our promises. We deliver to the pier before the ship leaves.
